Introduction
Keimyung University was founded in 1954 thanks to the generosity and dedication of american missionaries and educators. their efforts and international Christian spirit were crucial in helping to lay solid educational foundations in a war-stricken country.
in just over a period of fifty years,Keimyung has developed into one of the leading universities in Korea and it has inherited its educational mission of pursuing truth, justice and love.
the Keimyung international students gain educational and cultural experience in Korea.
Approximately fifty scholarships will be awarded every year to qualified candidates.

Scholarship details
a. Duration of Scholarship
◦ Korean Language Program up to 1 year if necessary
◦ Undergraduate program up to 4years
◦ Master Program up to 2 or 2.5 years
◦ Doctorate program up to 3 years
b. Scholarship Benefit
◦ Full tuition fee waiver
◦ Full dormitory fee waiver ◦ Monthly living allowance
◦ Korean Language Course for 1 year if necessary
▷ Applicants with the required Korean language proficiency can attend a degree program immediately.
c. Scholarship Requirements
◦ Undergraduate program :
- complete over 15 credits per semester
- GPA should be over 3.0 without an F
◦ Graduate program : GPA should be over 80 points without an F
▷ Students who receive the scholarship have to do 5 hours of mandatory work a week on the campus.
Admission details
a. Academic Year
◦ Spring semester: March 1 – mid-June
◦ Fall semester: end of August – mid-December
b. Application Due Dates: September 30 th , 2007 for 2008 spring semester
c. Eligibility for Application
The applicant and both his/her parents must hold foreign citizenship. In addition, the following eligibility requirements for each program must be met before enrollment
◦ Undergraduate: Applicants must have completed their entire high school education outside Korea
◦ Undergraduate Transfer: Applicants who completed their entire high school education outside Korea and at least one or two academic year(s) of university education or another Bachelor's degree program outside Korea are eligible to transfer to the second or third year of our undergraduate program outside Korea
◦ Master's program: Applicants must have completed their entire undergraduate program and hold a bachelor's degree granted by a university outside Korea
◦ Doctoral Program: Applicants must have completed their entire undergraduate program and hold bachelor's and master's degrees granted by universities outside Korea
d. Required Documents
◦ Undergraduate Students (freshman)
- One completed Application form (University form)
- One officially signed recommendation letter by the president of the university which he/she attends OR one officially signed and sealed recommendation letter by the Korean ambassador to his/her country
- One recommendation letter from the applicant's academic advisor
- One Official Transcript and one (prospective) diploma from the high school attended
- Proof of Immigration Status
- Family Census Register or equivalent document (published by the government authority)
- Personal Statement and Study Plan in Korean (University form)
- Korean language ability certificate (waivered for KIC applicants)
- One photocopy of the Passport of the applicant
▷ Transfer students need to submit official transcript and diploma from the university or college attended.
◦ Graduate Students
- One completed Application form
- Official diplomas and transcripts from undergraduate and graduate programs
- Study plan in Korean or English
- One officially signed recommendation letter by the president of the university which he/she attends OR one officially signed and sealed recommendation letter by the ministry of education of the applicant's country OR one officially signed and sealed recommendation letter by the Korean ambassador to his/her country
- One recommendation letter from the applicant's academic advisor
- Passport Copy and 5 ID Photos (4cm*5cm)
▷ All courses offered in Korean for graduate school program (Korean Language ability is required)
◦ Korean Language Program
- One completed Application form
- Personal Statement and Study Plan
- One photocopy of the Passport of the applicant
- Personal reference for foreigner (D-4 Visa applicants)
e. Evaluation for Selection
The scholarship is granted based on a through review of all factors including the applicant's qualities as a creative global leader, his/her financial stability, and the recommendation from the applicant's government or an institution that he or she belongs to.
